Standing Shadows

Standing Shadows recently spent weeks recording in Joshua Tree desert with producer Chris Goss (Queens Of The Stone Age, UNKLE, Duke Spirit, The Cult) at Rancho de la Luna, with engineer Ethan Allen (Gram Rabbit, Daniel Lanois, Spindrift). The band sweated out 3 new songs in the ungodly desert heat to be released in October 2011. From glockenspiels & FunMachines, to keytars & pots & pans, the band played on every instrument & surface available. Songs include the wild & energetic “Freakshow”, epic-heartfelt “Just A Part Of Me”, & the song “One by One” features Dave Catching (QOTSA, Eagles Of Death Metal) on guitar.“Standing Shadows want to be a big rock band. It’s apparent from every outsized melody and synth-drenched soundscape on the L.A. quartet’s…live show, which is heavy on smoke, strobes and in-your-face volume. Standing Shadows’ electro-rock toggles between Floydian edginess and the hyper-emotional bombast you might hear from the likes of Shiny Toy Guns (though never quite that preening). If they’re going for Muse, they’re headed in the right direction.”

Out of Echo Park, an alternative rock band with an electro pop twist is getting all sorts of buzz about their new music video for song “We Are Everlasting,” which if you are into She Wants Revenge or Interpol you will definitely be into this track.” -LA Canvas

“Yes, their live show comes equipped with all of the visual aides of atmosphere and illusion (running video, strobes), but it’s the progressive structure of the music, the grooving synths, the solid beats, and edgy guitar (as well as intense and energetic performances) that are set to make their mark upon the ears of Los Angeles and beyond.” -The Owl Mag
